In Loving Memory of Sonny Fetzer

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sonny Fetzer, in 2026, at the age of 71.

Sonny is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Jacynthe Lavoie Fetzer; his three daughters, Judith Fetzer, Sylvie Bourdon (Yannick), and Julie Babcock (Adam); and his cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Samuel, Antoine, Emma, Zachary, Loïc, and Liam, who will forever carry his love and memory in their hearts.

He is also survived by his sister, Marion Fetzer (late Gregor); his brother, Gerd Fetzer (Sandra); his nephew, Jared Fetzer; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Lavoie family, the late François and Ginette, Michel and Nicole, Jean and Lucie, and Marcel; as well as his many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Sonny lived life with boundless curiosity and an unwavering sense of possibility. He was always dreaming, planning his next adventure, and pursuing new passions with enthusiasm. A proud Freemason & Shriner, he found great purpose in the principles of brotherhood and service. His passions truly drove his life – motorcycles, music, soccer, and karate. He also enjoyed staying connected with family and friends through Facebook, where he enthusiastically shared his thoughts, stories, and the moments that brought him joy. His optimism, generous spirit, and zest for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Sonny’s life will be held on Sunday, September 13, beginning at 11:30 a.m., at the St-Rémi Community Hall (Salle Saturne, 25, rue Saint-Sauveur, Saint-Rémi, QC J0L 2L0). Family and friends are warmly invited to join in honoring his life and sharing memories of a man who touched so many.

A Masonic service organized by the Grand Lodge will also be held on Saturday, August 29 at 3:00 pm (474, rue Acadie in Grande-Anse, NB).

In keeping with Sonny’s Masonic journey, we leave him with these traditional words:

“He has laid down the working tools of life. May the Grand Architect of the Universe receive him into the Celestial Lodge Above.”

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Coopérative Funéraire “La Colombe” Ltd.

À la douce mémoire de Sonny Fetzer

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Sonny Fetzer, survenu en 2026, à l’âge de 71 ans.

Sonny laisse dans le deuil son épouse dévouée, Jacynthe Lavoie Fetzer; ses trois filles, Judith Fetzer, Sylvie Bourdon (Yannick) et Julie Babcock (Adam); ainsi que ses petits-enfants adorés, Alexis, Samuel, Antoine, Emma, Zachary, Loïc et Liam, qui porteront à jamais son amour et son souvenir dans leur cœur.

Il laisse également dans le deuil sa sœur, Marion Fetzer (feu Gregor); son frère, Gerd Fetzer (Sandra); son neveu, Jared Fetzer; ses beaux-frères et belles-sœurs de la famille Lavoie, feu François et Ginette, Michel et Nicole, Jean et Lucie ainsi que Marcel; de même que ses nombreux neveux et nièces, parents et amis chers.

Sonny a vécu avec une curiosité sans limites et un sens inébranlable du possible. Il rêvait sans cesse, planifiait sa prochaine aventure et embrassait chaque nouvelle passion avec enthousiasme. Fier franc-maçon et Shriner, il trouvait un grand sens dans les principes de fraternité et de service. Ses passions ont guidé sa vie – la moto, la musique, le soccer et le karaté. Il aimait aussi rester en contact avec sa famille et ses amis sur Facebook, où il partageait avec enthousiasme ses réflexions, ses histoires et les moments qui le rendaient heureux. Son optimisme, sa générosité et sa joie de vivre resteront gravés dans la mémoire de tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître.

Une célébration de la vie de Sonny aura lieu le dimanche 13 septembre, à compter de 11 h 30, à la salle communautaire de Saint-Rémi (Salle Saturne, 25, rue Saint-Sauveur, Saint-Rémi, QC J0L 2L0). Parents et amis sont chaleureusement invités à venir honorer sa mémoire et partager leurs souvenirs.

Un service maçonnique organisé par le Grand Lodge aura également lieu le samedi 29 août à 15 h, au 474, rue Acadie à Grande-Anse, au Nouveau-Brunswick.

Fidèles au parcours maçonnique de Sonny, nous le laissons partir avec ces mots traditionnels :
